Tioga Labs: Boutique Amplifiers

We recently had a chance to play some of these amps and they are great friends of Talk Guitar. Although they are a fairly new player in the amp scene, designer Brian Spears has put together a great branding and an impressive sound in each Tioga he builds. All Tioga Amps for hand wired, and built like a tank. in addition to their model offerings, you can get custom designed amps from Tioga catered to your playing styles and preferences.

Here’s a few details on their current amp models:

Tioga Ezekiel Combo ($1700)

From their website:
The Ezekiel is a 50 Watt EL34 based 2 channel amplifier. For great classic tone this amp is the one. Clean channel that will melt yer soul, and a classic tube distortion that many pedals try to emulate. This amp has amazing tone, is loud, and can really heat it up.

Tioga Solomon Head ($1200)

From their website:

The Solomon is a single channel 6L6 based 40 watt amplifier. It has a very dynamic clean sound with lots of headroom and classic 60′s and early 70′s tones. Lighweight, with power to spare this little box, can bring amazing tone to a single speaker cabinet to a full on stack.

Phil Keaggy Uses an Ebow

Pretty cool use of the Ebow. Any other players out there who use it often? If so, in what settings and song types?
